Measuring for furniture covers
Although luxury outdoor furniture is designed to last outdoors throughout just about any weather condition, it’s always best practice to take proper care of your outdoor furniture. This includes regular cleaning, but the key to maintaining beautiful outdoor furniture is preventing damage, mold, or mildew from happening in the first place. Investing in a high-quality patio furniture cover is a great way to protect your patio furniture when it's not in use. When choosing an outdoor furniture cover, it’s imperative to choose something that fits your furniture properly, otherwise, you risk trapping in moisture and doing more harm than good. Here’s our guide for how to measure for patio furniture covers.
How to measure for outdoor furniture covers: Seating
If you’re measuring an outdoor chair or sofa, begin by measuring the width of the seat from left to right. Find the seating’s height by measuring the top of the back of the seat to the ground. Finally, measure the distance between the front leg and the back leg to get the depth.
How to measure for outdoor furniture covers: Tables
If your outdoor table is round, calculate the diameter of the table by measuring from one end of the table to the other. If your table is square or rectangular, measure the width for both the long side (width) and the short side (depth). For the height, measure the distance from the top of the table to the ground. If your table is used for an umbrella, look covers with a "Hole" style.
How to measure for outdoor furniture covers: Umbrellas and accessories
For umbrella covers, match your protective cover to your umbrella style (market or cantilever) or canopy size. The Large size fits 6' - 8.5' styles, and the X-Large size fits 9' - 11' styles. All umbrella covers include a high-reach rod to allow for coverage without having to remove the umbrella from its base. For fire pit covers, measure the width, depth and height. If your fire pit is round, measure diameter and height.
