All POVL Outdoor products are tested using industry accepted standards with the finest materials available and while all products are engineered to perform in diverse range of outdoor environments, all products do not perform the same in commercial settings. It is the responsibility of the buyer to ensure routine inspection of any product being used in a commercial setting and to remove any product that shows excessive wear or degraded functionality. Over time, if left outdoors and exposed to UV rays, your bench can develop a beautiful silvery color with the teak wood's natural aging. If your furniture is exposed to direct UV and you desire to keep the chair in its warm, honey-brown color, simply use a teak protectant.

For added protection against the elements and to keep your furniture looking great, add a WeatherMax 80 protective cover to your order.  These high-performance covers, made of UV-resistant solution-dyed polyester, protect against UV, rain and snow, and because these fade resistant covers are one-way breathable, they also help prevent mold and mildew. All WeatherMax 80 covers for POVL Outdoor furniture are measured to fit, made in the USA, and have a 5-year limited warranty.

POVL Outdoor only manufactures outdoor furniture using the finest materials and techniques available, ensuring long lasting and trouble-free enjoyment with only the most basic of routine maintenance. We recommend a brief cleaning of outdoor furniture twice a year.

Teak Cleaning & Care

Well-made teak furniture does not require any maintenance to remain sturdy and in good shape, even when it is kept outdoors and exposed to the weather. However, a periodic cleaning is recommended to eliminate dirt build-up and increase longevity. To clean outdoor teak furniture, scrub your wet furniture using a soft bristle brush and warm soapy water. When finished, rinse the entire surface with more fresh water to remove any remaining cleaning residue. For removing tough stains, use Golden Care Teak Cleaner in conjunction with some light sanding. Note - using a Teak Cleaner and/or light sanding will gently remove the top surface sliver-grey patina of the wood, restoring the furniture to a golden-brown color.

To protect teak surfaces from staining and to help maintain the sliver-grey patina on weathered teak, we recommend using Golden Care Teak Shield, which repels moisture and minimizes staining. To help maintain the honey-brown look of new teak furniture, apply Golden Care Teak Protector to all exposed surfaces after letting the furniture sit outside for approximately 10 days. Note - applying Golden Care Teak Protector is about managing the cosmetic appearance and does not affect the longevity of the furniture.
