Rana is an exclusive lounge chair designed by Nanna Ditzel and now available in signature AluRattan™ which consists of a strong aluminum frame woven with ArtFibre™. Nanna Ditzel's experimental approach to design resulted in the Rana Chair, which is dazzling in both its simplicity and its ingenuity. Designed in 1951, this three-legged piece was one of the first to use the concept of a one-piece shell on a frame, and its strength and curves beautifully highlight the qualities of the rattan.

A Danish family company established in 1942, Sika Design is the oldest manufacturer of rattan and wicker furniture in Scandinavia. 

With a passion for rattan and great craftmanship, Sika Design manufactures furniture using in-house designs, as well as designs by some of the world’s greatest designers and architects. Though its history began with rattan, Sika Design has been manufacturing high-quality outdoor furniture for nearly 20 years. Thanks to unparalleled craftsmanship and materials, this outdoor furniture mimics the look and feel of reel rattan. 

Sika Design’s outdoor furniture is made from recycled aluminum and ArtFibre, a recyclable, artificial, maintenance-free fiber made from polyethylene. ArtFibre withstands water, UV radiation, and extreme temperatures. What’s more, there is minimum waste in its production methods, as ArtFibre residues can go back into the production process, and smaller aluminum pieces are recycled.

Our Exterior furniture requires no maintenance. The furniture is suitable for standing outside all year round and is easy to clean. For general cleaning, the furniture can be washed with water mixed with mild soap.

Sika Design offers a limited 2-year warranty. This warranty is available to authorized dealers (original invoice customers only) for workmanship and materials on Sika Design products. If a Sika Design product is found to be defective in that time period and reported with supporting photos, Sika Design will–at its sole discretion–instruct repairs, refund and/or replace the product.
