Caring for Aluminum Furniture

Southern Komfort metal frames are crafted with high-performance aluminum and finished with a premium powder coat for superior durability in outdoor environments. While the finishes are designed to last, regular care will help preserve their appearance and extend the life of your furniture.​

Cleaning Instructions​

• Remove dust and debris with a damp cloth or sponge.
• For deeper cleaning, use a soft brush with a mild household detergent, then rinse thoroughly with clean water.
• Clean every six months under normal conditions; in coastal or high-pollution areas, more frequent cleaning—every 2–3 months—is recommended.

Maintenance Guidelines​

• Avoid abrasive cleaners, steel brushes, or sponges that may scratch the surface.
• Do not use bleach or harsh chemical solutions.
• Before winter or long-term storage, clean the furniture thoroughly. 

Best Practices​

• Use protective covers when not in use to minimize exposure to the elements.
• Wipe away pooled water promptly from metal surfaces and cushion covers.
• Although Outdoor Dry Fast cushions are designed for moisture resistance, we recommend removing them when covering the furniture to prevent mildew.
• During heavy rain, tilt cushions upright to allow for better air circulation and faster drying.

Outdoor Upholstery Care & Maintenance

Southern Komfort's outdoor cushions feature “Dry Fast” foam, engineered to allow water to drain quickly and reduce drying times. During heavy or extended rainfall, cushions may become saturated. To aid drying, remove the cushions and stand them upright in a dry, sunny location. Sunbrella™ outdoor fabrics are designed for exceptional performance. For customer-supplied materials (COM), please consult the fabric manufacturer’s care guidelines for best results.

Care Guidelines​

• Avoid abrasive cleaners, sponges, or steel brushes.
• Clean furniture before placing it in long-term or winter storage.
• Do not use bleach, hot water, or washing machines, which may damage materials. Follow the fabric manufacturer’s care instructions.

General Recommendations​

• Use outdoor covers to protect furniture from weather and environmental conditions.
• Remove cushions when covering frames to prevent mold and mildew buildup.
• Promptly remove natural debris, food, and drink spills to reduce staining and mold growth.
• During periods of heavy rain, tilt Dry Fast seat cushions upright to aid drying.

Cleaning Instructions​

• For routine cleaning, use a mild soap and water solution with a soft-bristled brush. Rinse thoroughly with cold water and allow to air dry.
• For stubborn stains, such as bird residue, apply a gentle cleanser.
• If necessary, remove fabric covers and hand-wash them in cold water. Do not tumble dry or apply heat.

Mildew Maintenance​

• While mildew is often manageable with light, regular cleaning, persistent issues may require a diluted bleach solution:
• Mix ½ cup (4 oz.) of bleach with ¼ cup (2 oz.) of mild soap per ½ gallon of water.
• Gently scrub affected areas for no more than 15 minutes, then rinse thoroughly with cold water.
• Avoid fully immersing cushions in the solution.
• Bleach can compromise the fabric’s protective coating; we recommend reapplying a product such as Fabric Guard to restore repellency.

Southern Komfort's warranty varies on different products and materials used.

All Frames have a 3 year warranty.
Fabric has a warranty of 5 years.
Cushion construction has a warranty of 1 year.
Outdoor cushion foam have a 1 year manufacturer warranty.

Manila Rope has a warranty of 1 year.

Synthetic Manila Rope has a warranty of 3 years.

Weather Covers have a 3 year warranty on fabric and construction

(with proper use and storage).

Any warranty provided by  Southern Komfort  is non-transferable and is limited to those who purchased the product from Southern Komfort or from a Southern Komfort authorized reseller, and only while the product is owned by the original owner. Proof of purchase and original ownership is required for any warranty claims. The warranty provided by Southern Komfort, if any, does not cover any of the following: all normal wear and tear; superficial or aesthetic defects that do not affect the use and operation of the merchandise; damage caused by neglect, temperature, or moisture extremes; damage due to mishandling, neglect, improper setup, damage in travel, shipping damage or use under other than what is classified as normal conditions; normal changes in wood grain, fading of color and/or aging of any finish.
