A communal take on its predecessor—the crystalline geometry of the Zachary A. Design Facet 26" Round Low Table takes a larger form, entrenching the weight of earth in its space. This all-weather piece is constructed of a cast resin and fiberglass mix with a stone aggregate, making it light enough to be easily movable and substantial enough not to shift about in a strong wind.

Unexpectedly lightweight, Zachary A. Design’s outdoor furniture is handmade in Chicago with a proprietary combination of real stone aggregate, cast resin, and fiberglass. Crafted with modern, geometric designs, each faux-concrete piece is low-maintenance, easy to clean, and suitable for indoor and outdoor use. A textured finish creates a perfectly aged look, while integrated drainage stands up to rain and water. 

Among the product selection are dining furniture, lounge furniture, and accent pieces, all of which are as sleek as they are substantial.

“The first layer of stone and resin gives every Zachary A. piece the stone look and feel,” says Zachary A. President and Founder Zac Bitner. “We add a second layer of fiberglass to reinforce the top layer through all four seasons. The fiberglass is what gives a piece its structural strength and its lightweight quality. Our special technique utilizing fiberglass and resin allows us to create large, durable outdoor furniture that’s hollow. This significantly reduces the weight and also gives us a lot more play when we design more complex shapes.”

The result is furniture that looks like classic concrete but is remarkably easy to pick up and move. “People see [our furniture] and think they can’t possibly move it. Then there’s this amazement that comes when they lift a piece so effortlessly,” Bitner says.

Zachary A. Design furniture is made of fiberglass and stone. Some wear and fading over time is normal. This does not take away from the rustic texture of the material. It is made to look natural. To clean use only water and a soft sponge, or cloth to wipe any dirt that may have collected on the surface. A matte clear coat covers all pieces to aid cleaning. Harsh abrasives and solvents could dissolve the protective coating over time. Household soap and soft scrubbing with a nylon brush can be used to clean dirt from time to time, but is frequently not necessary. DO NOT POWERWASH. Do not use abrasives to clean any of our pieces. If a problem spot or stain arises some scrubbing with a light non-solvent soap will get spots out.

Each piece of Zachary A. furniture is handcrafted in Chicago. Slight variations may occur in the materials, size, shape, and finish. Matching items is difficult. Exact matches should not be expected for any order and specifically reorders and replacements. Pieces are expected to be darker to lighter, more textured, less textured.1 year limited warranty on manufacturer defects. No warranty, express or implied, applies to any condition resulting from misuse, abuse, delivery or transportation damage, nor any condition resulting from incorrect or inadequate maintenance, cleaning or care.
