Living in the In-Town neighborhoods of Atlanta has many benefits. Short commutes to jobs in downtown and midtown, walkable neighborhoods with great restaurants and shopping options, proximity to the BeltLine, Piedmont Park and all the benefits city living has to offer. What in-town living does not have is large backyards. In our latest installation, small space did not keep these homeowners from getting everything they wanted out of their property. A pool with lounge chairs, water feature, fire pit and outdoor kitchen all find a place in this compact lot in the Virginia-Highlands neighborhood with the help of landscape designer Land Plus Associates and construction by Okun Tech.

The swimming pool, which was an existing feature in the yard when the homeowners purchased the property, got an upgrade with a custom fountain and lounge chairs from the Kingsley Bate St Tropez collection. These teak and sling lounge chairs project a sleek, modern look and are easy to care for with comfortable, replaceable sling fabric that wipes clean and doesn’t absorb water as cushions would. Perfect for those summer rainstorms that bring sunny skies in their wake.

A modern gas fire pit projects a custom, built-in look when placed atop similarly shaded pavers. This look is easy to replicate with our Lunar Bowl fire pit by Elementi. Surrounded by lounge chairs also from the Kingsley Bate St Tropez collection, the area has a cohesive, simple sophisticated style. Adding to that simplicity, the homeowners chose to replace their grass lawn with artificial turf, making this a low-maintenance outdoor space.

Near the rear property fence just beyond the pergola is the compact outdoor kitchen featuring appliances and grill by Lynx and a ceramic Kamado-style smoker. Proximity to the outdoor dining area makes meal prep and serving easy and allows the cook to be right in the middle of the action.

Beneath the soaring pergola – complete with an outdoor weatherproof fan – is a large dining table that seats 8 guests. The weathered teak table from the Kingsley Bate Valhalla collection pairs perfectly with woven all-weather wicker chairs from the Sag Harbor collection to create a casual-chic dining space.

It’s not often that we’re able to get aerial images of our installations, but on this project, the designers were so delighted by how it turned out that they came back and shot the property by drone and shared these awesome images from above with us as well. What do you think?
